Life is not a direct path from chaos to order. You can't expect to think, "I'm a catastrophe now, but I'll get my shit together later and then live happily ever after."
Instead, life is a process of falling apart, coming back together, and falling apart again that gets repeated over and over.
Understanding this is important because it will give you the perspective you need to see that whatever you’re going through won't last forever.
It gives you sea legs for the rocky ride of life. You'll be more alert, flexible and so very grateful.
You are already everything you need. But it takes hard work to shift from taking to making - no way around it. Here’s how…
1. Rewind your life and try and remember where it all went wrong.
What exactly did you do to cause your downfall?
2. Now start over and do something different that you think will lead you to success!!
Life becomes hard when you fall. Different people are saying different things to your face; blaming you for all your troubles; telling you to live by their rules. But you know what? They have lived their own lives and it's high time you started living your own, by your own rules!!
3. In professional life, failing means accumulating experiences.
Don't stress about it, just look at the bigger picture. Instead of asking how and why you have failed, ask what experiences you’ve gained and what your next plan is going to be.
4. Encourage yourself
Believe in yourself. Love yourself. Failure is unavoidable. You need to accept this fact before you even think of taking charge of your own life
5. Have a well-defined purpose in life
There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite the goal at which to aim. Ninety-eight per cent of men have no such aim.
6. Have the ambition to aim above mediocrity
There is no hope for anyone who’s so indifferent that they don’t want to get ahead in life because they’re not willing to pay the price.
7. Obtain knowledge by any means possible
If you’re educated, you’ve learnt to achieve your desires without violating the rights of others. Education consists of more than simple knowledge for knowledge’s sake. Education is knowledge APPLIED consistently and effectively.
8. Have self-discipline
Discipline comes through self-control.
This means that one must control all negative qualities. Before you can
control your life, you must first control yourself. Self-mastery is the
hardest job you will ever tackle.
9. Stop procrastinating
We lose so much time waiting for the right time to start a project or to take that next step. The truth is, there is only ever one right time and that time is NOW. If you keep waiting, the time will never come.
Start where you’re standing right now. Work with whatever tools you may have at your command. Better tools will be found as you progress on your journey.
10. Stop having a negative personality
Success will never come to those who repel others with negativity. Success comes through the application of POWER. But power is attained through the cooperative efforts of connected people. Negativity will not induce cooperation.
11. Maintain a well-defined power of decision
Men who succeed reach decisions promptly and stick to them with confidence. They change them, if at all, only after careful consideration. Men who fail, reach decisions, if at all, very slowly, and change them frequently.
Indecision and procrastination are twin brothers. Where one is found, the other is usually close behind. Kill off this pair before they completely hog-tie you to the treadmill of FAILURE.
12. Limit superstition and prejudice
A superstition is a symptom of fear. It is also a sign of ignorance. Men who succeed keep open minds and are afraid of nothing.
13. The habit of indiscriminate spending
The spend-thrift cannot succeed, mainly because he stands eternally in FEAR OF POVERTY. Form the habit of systematic saving by putting aside a definite percentage of your income. Money in the bank gives one a very safe foundation of COURAGE when bargaining for the sale of personal services.
Without money, one must take what one is offered, and be glad to get it.
14. Intentional dishonesty
There is no substitute for honesty.
One may be temporarily dishonest by force of circumstances over which one has no control, without permanent damage. But, there is NO HOPE for the person who is dishonest by choice. Sooner or later, his deeds will catch up with him, and he will pay by loss of reputation, and perhaps even loss of liberty.
15. Stop guessing and start thinking
Most people are too indifferent or lazy to acquire FACTS with which to think ACCURATELY. They prefer to act on “opinions” created by guesswork or snap-judgments. You know what they say about when you assume.
Which side you choose to be on depends totally on you.
